Teak is a durable hard wood, a precious resource and probably the best protected commercial species in the world. It is chosen for its colour, hardness and beautiful grain.
Teak tree originates from Burma (now Myanmar), while some far-signted foreigners brought saplings to plantations in India, Africa, central America and Indonesia. Teak wood from different countries varying in climates, soil, drainage, rainfall and dry seasons differs in its grain, colour, hardness and oil content.
